About Us

Swimbridge Parklands is a registered charity (no 1096684) that works closely with Swimbridge Parish Council who manage the park.  The Parish Council lease the Glebe Field (known as Swimbridge Parklands) from the Diocese of Exeter on a 999 year lease peppercorn rent.

The park includes a children’s play area, informal sports pitch with football goals, riverbank and wildlife area, an orchard and a dedicated area for dog walking.

The late John Bartlett and his grand daughter Amy Bartlett opened the play equipment with our Swimbridge Parklands Chair Cllr Colin Wadsworth in October 2020.

John was the initial driving force to get a park in Swimbridge and he, together with a dedicated team of volunteers, formed SNAP (Swimbridge Needs A Park) in 1995.
