Swimbridge’s public spaces and who looks after them:
-
Swimbridge Parklands is also known as the Glebe Field and can be accessed via Liverton Drive or the
gate opposite the School. The Parish Council lease around 5.5 acres from the Diocese of Exeter.
Swimbridge Parklands Registered Charity and the Riverbank Project team support them. It is
managed by volunteers – if you can help please contact us. -
The Old Orchard can be accessed via the gate to the Glebe Field opposite the school. This is an area which can be used for dog walking and has several benches alongside the path. We have planted some trees in the Community orchard. Volunteers are always needed to help take care of the area. If you can help please contact us.
-
The Streamside Garden is owned by the Diocese of Exeter and maintained by volunteers and The Friends of St James Church.
-
The Churchyard is open to all our parishioners and visitors for quiet enjoyment, again it is maintained by volunteers and the Parish Council help financially.
-
The Jubilee Hall grounds is available for use by hirers, and is maintained by volunteers.

Allotments – If you would like a plot please contact Lindsay Cooper, 01271 830347. Allotment stall: You are welcome to take plants, vegetables, flowers and fruit from the allotment stall near the bridge. This is the allotmenteers surplus produce, plus any other’s contributions are welcome too. Donations in the past have gone to various Swimbridge charities.
-
The Village Square and bus shelter is kept tidy by volunteers and The Green Team.
We also have lots of fantastic local footpaths and bridleways to explore ... please respect the Country Code and don't leave any litter. Thank you.
