SNAP (Swimbridge Needs A Park) was formed in 1995 as a response from the village to address the need for a park. SNAP worked alongside the Parish Council and North Devon District Council to secure the only flat field in the heart of the village. SNAP renamed as Swimbridge Parklands and became a registered charity (no 1096684) in 2003.
SNAP organised lots of fundraising activities include the sale of a popular recipe book and organised Lightquest – a spectacular event which took the South West by storm!
The Diocese of Exeter leased the Glebe Field (known as Swimbridge Parklands) to Swimbridge Parish Council on a 999 year lease peppercorn rent on 23 June 2015.
